Congratulations to Jo Bannatyne-Cugnet and her husband Ken, who both received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in a ceremony at Government House in Regina.

They were among 33 Saskatchewan recipients who were chosen because they made a significant contribution to their fellow man, their community, or their country.

Jo is best known for writing A Prairie Alphabet, a best-selling picture book illustrated by Yvette Moore. The book showcases Saskatchewan farm life and has received many honours and awards since it was first published in 1993.
